What model have I got?

Hi guys

I am trying to distinguish which model of Generation 1 I have got, seem to recall there are things like GS, GSL and GSL-SE. The log book is no help and was just wondering if you guys knew of things to look out for. Mines got leccy windows, air con etc.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Those are all US models.

The UK just got one spec of RX7 for each of the three MK's

I think yours is a 1984 so ....

you have

a 12a with 115hp
front disc brakes (vented)
rear disc brakes (vented)
front spoiler with brake ducts
14" wheels with 4 x 114.3mm PCD
uprated suspension and revised rear end geometry
updated interior + loads of other bits

Forget what you read on the US forums about the differences in models as the UK, Europe, Oz and Japan all got different specs

Chassis code SA22c
Engine - 12a 101hp
front dics - rear drums
13" wheels

1981 - 1983 - 1st Gen MK2

Engine 12a 115hp
front discs - rear non vented dics
13" wheels with wider tires
revised bodywork (molded in bumpers)
revised interior

1984 - 1986 - 1st Gen MK3
Chassis code FB
Engine 12a 115hp
vented discs all round
revised front air dam with brake ducts
revised suspension with wider track and different pcd on wheels
14" wheels
revised interior

europe was pretty much like UK, except LHD of course.
some 81-83 have SA codes, some FB...???
115hp most countries, 113 germany.
84-85 different dash (as in GSL-SE)
