Marty Heard's Pro Street 13B Turbo Datsun 1200 Coupe, AVENGE, became the 2nd fastest Pro Street and 4th fastest overall 13B powered car in Australia at Willowbank Raceway last weekend, running 8.49@152mph with a very sick engine.

A fuel supply problem on the cars first pass saw it lean out and damage a seal ot two. The injectors were removed and oil was tipped into the manifold to get the car to start as it had lost compression, but it still managed to run it's quickest pass to date like this!

Once the engine is fixed it should be heading deep into the 8's.

Hi Daz!

Excellent stuff, Marty is an old friend of mine - does he still check the email on his website? http://www.rotorspeed.com/.

How is the general rotary scene back home?

Thanks very much for the information.

Hi Glenn, it's Darren, long time no hear.

Marty is a bit slack when it comes to checking his e-mail!

I've actually got some good pics of your white RX-2 from the old Oran Park days that I have been meaning to scan in and send over to you, some good memories from the old days. I've also got some pics of us all standing on the side of the Hume Highway halfway to Canberra when your tailshaft decided to rip in half on the way to the Summer Nats, not one the more fond memories though hey!

The Rotary scene in general over here at the moment is probably bigger than ever, especially on the drag racing front. Although the Rotaries are still pretty much dominating the Club Car racing as always.

I'll keep you posted on how Marty's thing is going, he's supposed to be racing it again in three weeks so fingers crosssed for a good showing.

DARREN!!!!

Isn't the internet bloody amazing! I didn't know it was you. Wonderful to hear from you.

Fantastic mate, would love to see the photo's. Did you see the video's on
www.mymazdarotary.com (http://www.mymazdarotary.com) ?
Remeber those old street racing days (Canberra etc.)

By the way - a mate of mine is interested in a decent Club Car/IPRA car, do you know of any for sale?

What are you driving these days?

It was funny actually, after I posted on here I was checking Ausrotary.com, and David had put a link to your site with the video's, which was quite a coincidence I thought!

Who could forget the old days, spending way too many Friday and Saturday nights down at Auburn McDonalds then shooting off to Carter St or all the way out to Ingleburn for some runs, then back to Auburn etc etc.

And speaking of Canberra, that video you have on your site with the RX-2 and RX-3 racing, who's cars are they? I thought it might have been when David raced Warren but it is hard to tell. It would be great to see all the vids you have, like Jono and Penny racing in Canberra, Marty going nuts in the 323 up in the pine forest, and all of the street racing each night.

I've still got my blue RX-2 which I bought in 1993 which has a turbocharged 12A with MoTeC. Don't drive it everyday anymore as it got too risky to leave parked anywhere unfortunately. There are some details here http://members.ozemail.com.au/~derrwint/carpage.htm plus some of the cars from the old days you'd probably like to see.

Also got my Grandfathers original RX-4 Coupe tucked away in the garage, and just using a Laser for getting about in.

I don't know of any Club Cars in particular that are for sale at the moment, but if he keeps an eye out in Auto Action or Motorsport News there are quite often cars for sale.

Darren,

The RX-2 looks immaculate!

I do have a bunch of video's, which are being converted by a friend of mine at the moment (it's a big job and he has been doing it for ages!)

But I should hopefully have a hard disk full of video's to edit for my website (early next year)

Yep - it was David v's Warren :)

Got any details on your car? What injector's, turbo are you running etc.? any dyno figures?
