HI ALL,

Can somebody help me regarding sva testing??

I have an 93 FD imported from Japan, during the import testing everything was fine except from the emissions.

Car is almost stock, only thing that is different is my exhaust (Jasma) and intake (HKS).

Can somebody help me out?

Help is appreciated.

Cheers

Hello Mate,
what is it failing on Lambda ? hc ? co% ?

i read on here that people are having to change the ecu for a different one to get it through then change it back:eek:

It depends how far out the readings are out. As the car is almost stock there should be no issues if the car is functioning properly. It's more likely to be fouled spark plugs black airfilter, and make sure the airpump is working correctly. Shouldn't theoretically need apexi ecu unless the car has quite a few mods

Thanks for the info, The readings where quite high actually, Lambda was a bit more than 10 at 2500 rpm and co was 4 instead of 0,5.

The test is being performed at idle (750rpm) and 2000 and 2500.

I havent got a clue wat to do, looked at the airpump, which runs fine, filters cleaned yesterday where not dirty. And spark plugs changed last week.

Car runs quite rich actually, when I rev it and leave it hanging at 2000 rpm and let go of the throttle I have my exhaust popping.

Any more ideas

Cheers

If you have access to a apexi ecu and commander that you can borrow for the test you can lean the mixture out for the test, otherwise suggest putting a standard back box on.
Are you sure about the lambda being 10 ? 1.5 or 2.5 or something I can understand 10 sounds too incredible to be true ?

Unfortunately no option for an apexi ecu and or back box, in the Netherlands there are only a few people who drive an FD.

I will let a friend of mine (which owns a garage) check the value's one of these days.

Any other options, I will post the outcome of the test asap.

Hi Whats the date of first registration on the dereg documents. Vehicles that are 10 years old and above don't need an sva certificate just an MOT, so you might be better off checking that to see if it actually needs an sva and if it;s say registered new as of July 93 you might be just better off waiting a couple of months.

Ok that would be an option, but is that the same as in the netherlands?? My car is from 07-1993 so that would be waiting for 2 months :(

I was thinking of putting something like rockwool in the center of my exhaust. just for testing

I have to check the Dutch SVA if my values go down when I wait 2 months.

BTW it is failing on Lambda and CO% lambda not that much but CO% is very much

The sva law should be the smae in Europe anything 10 years or older doesn't need to be sva'd. Does it fail on the normal idle or fast idle test ?

As far as I know fast idle, at idle it was oke, at 2000 also but I believe at 2500 it failed.

Car is through the SVA,

BIG OK. Rotaries are excluded from emission tests
