HI people
i have just bought a 3rd gen 7 and i thought all of them came with air con but cant seem to find it. Also does anyone onw know what the little round button next to the hazzard lights does(just about the fan switch)

i though it might be lol, but it didnt seem to get very cold and when i pressed it when the car was idle the engine mide a different noise. PLus theres no sign saying its air con

If you push the button it will light up but wont come on until you turn the fan on. If you have the button in and the light on and fan then you prob need the gas topping up.

Re; Air Con

It could be that your air-con needs re-gassing.

I think the following is right, no doubt I'll be corrected if I'm wrong.

On top of the air con unit is a small glass window, about the size of a 5p, this should be green in colour - if it's black you need to be re-gassed. Cost about £55 at any air-con place.

On my car is is the button clearly labeled A/C. LOL

i dont think mine has it then cos the button is black and has no light on it, it doesnt even say A/C.

Hi Matt,

Yes - it looks like the A/C button (from memory!) I'm sure someone else will confirm.

It also looks like A/C is installed in the engine bay - little hard to tell from the photo.

It is a different button though - and not an easy one to find. So I won't pick on you about your first post! :)

As Gary has said, perhaps it needs re-gassing.

that is not the same as any other ac button ive seen, it has no light in the centre and ac marked on it, but is in the correct possition. I believe all fds came with ac as standard so must be there unless someone has removed it. You said you were local to me, run it over and lets have a butchers.

The pic of the engine bay shows an air-con unit, so there must be a control and that button on the dash is where my air-con on/off is.

Yes Matt, I'm about all day today and even have another FD owner here with me today - Dave aka Sicknote.

Come off A34 at Bullington Cross (A303 turn off). Straight across roundabout onto Bullington Lane, end of road roundabout turn right (past Texaco), next roundabout turn left and my place is 200 yards on the left. Big white building with "TAYLORS" written on it.
