ok presenting a few questions. 1 has anyone tuned a egi? heres why i am having a custom exhaust fitted next week in sheffield. and i dont know what to do next .. i am getting rid of my cat on my 2nd gen 1986 rex.. i am thinking of forcing a induction kit on .. any ideas as which one is the best..
should i chip the car? will it give any better performance..
what leads and sparks are best..
can you put a FSE boost valve on the car?
without stripping the engine.. what bold on kits.. can help improve the engine and increase the BHP figures.. apart from the exhaust which i am doing..

LAST QUESTION... AND VERY IMPORTANT..
have any of you had a 1986 EGI with a CAT?
reason why i am asking is that most people have never heard of this and i am taking a bit of a pole to see who had one and if so if they had it on... because i am told it is very very rare to find a car like this that is not... a import..
anyone in doubt i can supply the vin number..
cheers..
and thanks for helping...:cool

in the usa, all of our 81+ rx's had cats, so the cars exist.
after the exhaust there is usually some gains to be had by leaning the mixture out. they run rich from the factory, it almost seems like the turbo and the non turbo share fuel maps.

i knew they had cats in the usa.. but not over here for the 86 model. i was told the bhp figures will be noticable with the full exhaust system.. 20 maby more bhp.
i will just wait and see..
in the mean time.. does anyone know what size the pipe for air box is.. i am going to order a induction kit and also the pipeing for it.. cheers.. pps my car is still in the body shop.. it is taking my mechanic ages.. but hey perfection will be achieved.. at least i am hopeing.

yes, you will notice a big differnce in power. the airflow meter is 3", hks makes a little adaptor for a filter, its under $30us

i am so bloody happy yet slightly peeved off.. i got the car from the body shop.. ok i still need some more work but the body is now fine and the oil stays where it should .. in the engine and not all over the ground.. but what happens??? i go to open my drivers door handle and click... snap... nothing... i broke one of the arms in the bloody door.. so a quick call to the nice bloke i thinks in norwich... and sure enough a new door handle.. now i have to paint the bloody thing.. so typical or what?
but the car drives nice... i just have to open it from the passangers side
:(
and to make insult to injury..
i drove home that same night and left the car running and shut the door... being one in the morning i was tired and forgot what would happen.. well a quick call to my wife to bring a extra set of keys as i have now locked my self out of the car... and 20 min later...
i was able to drive off again..
my pride was hurt.

ive thought about some sort of passengers side exchange program, where we send you our passenger side stuff, and you send us your passenger side stuff :D
