Hi Martin,
Nice to see,it does look pretty good.
I have enough parts to build a genuine RX2 engine.
regards
Carl;)

I could cry now when I think of how many engine parts Ive thrown away over the years!

Carl, what about ancillaries, water pump, fan and radiator, distributors, etc.? Not to mention Gearbox, Starter, and prop shaft!

Henning and I think we will be over capitalizing by trying to restore it properly. We thought RX-7 spares, help and advice would be easier come by. Indeed, we are getting our donor car for almost nothing.

The interior is good, although its got non-Mazda front seats in it. Any RX-2 seats lying around?

I have dizzy's,water pump and stater motor.Prop shaft can be made relatively cheaply.radiator can be either made or reconditioned.
It really depends on whether you want it original or near as or not.
Regards
Carl.

Thanks for all the supportive comments, guys. We are going to look at a donor RX-7 on Monday night. It comes with 2 engines, one recently rebuilt.

It actually goes quite well at the moment with its 2.0 l ford engine. I try and use it once a week to work, just to keep it running. I have a 323 and a 3rd Gen. So, in the mornings I'm : "mm what shall I drive today?". Due to my budget, the 323 usually gets used.

I find more heads turn when I drive the RX-2, than the RX-7!!!

So many posts on this thread, now, are you asking me about the motor? :-)

Well, we have collected a donor RX-7, that came with a spare good engine.

Meantime, I am working on the brakes, see:

Ok: ordered, received and fitted new LH brake caliper this weekend. I have now ordered the RH one, too. So, I'll replace that, and then flush the whole system with DOT 5.1
