Anyone got a spare bonnet release cable or know where I can get one? Mine has snapped, luckily Geff at GPA could still get it open for my service, but I need a new one. Mazda have got to order one from Japan and that'll probably take ages to come in.

Also after a new alternator belt as mine has got a few cracks in it. Anyone know where I can get one cheaper than main dealer?

the longest ive had to wait is two weeks. depends on how many miles you do but i would say you should be ok for a couple of weeks without opening the hood. as for the belt you could take it off and try and mach it down halfords.

I spent £85 to get new belts from Mazda! Speak to Geff again. Last time I was there, I chatted to him about this, and he knows of a non Mazda belt that fits.

Now, I was very reluctant to go with a non Mazda belt. I had a 1st gen that used to eat belts, until the parts guy at Mazda said to use only Mazda belts. When I did, the problem went away!

Geff says its not a problem on the 3rd Gen to use an aftermarket belt. With the saving, you could probably replace them twice as often is your a bit concerned.
