i havent forgotton you just that when i get home it not the first thing on my mind and when i remember its dark and the car isnt outside my house. if you dont mind waiting till saturday it will be easier. i dont think a picture will help you make one though.

how does this sound. my brother is getting into making things from glass fiber and carbon fiber. if i was to get him to copy my one (belive me this will be very time comsuming) and make them in carbon would any one be interested in them and how much would you be prepared to pay for one.

i've been thinking of asking him to do mine but i know how long it takes and it wouldnt be worth it to just do one. :cool

I think if someone were to make them, quite a few would be sold. The EGI didnt come with one, so those owners are always after them.

Cheers for that.

I would be intrested in buying a shelf of you, Would you need to get more that one to do this though? If not what sort of Price and time scale is involved.

Thanks.

i breifly spoke about this today with my brother.

the making of the plug would be the biggest time consumer. then you have to make a mould . again this will take time as it will be the main part needed to reproduce others from. once at this stage you can make one or two every weekend till you get bored or the mould becomes too tatty. then you have to make a new mould from the origanal plug.

i might have to make the plug and it will not be exactly the same as the original but hopefully not that different. basicly the cost will depend on how many i can sell. the material cost i wont know till i make one and the time it takes to get to that stage is unknown also.

so the question is how much does everyone think would be fair. if i think i could make something out of this then we could start makeing them. i would only expect to cover my time not sell some and be able to retire :rollin

If I recall correctly, Andrew charged me £80 for a used one about 2 years ago.

If it was well made i'd pay that for one but i can see why he charged you £80 they are slightly rare.

what i'll do is start making one. hopefully i'll have it ready for one of the shows this summer and y'all can see it for your self. then we'll go from there, so dont buy one yet.

just wanted to keep you informed on the progress or lack of ,, to the rear shealf.

i did start to make it but what with being knocked off my bike, changing jobs and having a baby and now im into the fd engine swap. it has been put on a back burner. i have done alot of the work already so when i get back to it , it shouldn't take too long. i spose its going to be next year in realaty. it will be done though..
