its a bit different over here as youdont register the car as such, you have to pay road tax its about £160 if i remember correctly. insurance is a rollercoaster and it all depends on how old you are how old the car is, where you live ( good or bad area )but you could get a classic car insurance for about £100/£200. the problem we have is the cost of petrol or more to the point the 80% tax on fuel.

Insurance comes in three types
Third party - covers other people, e.g will not pay out if your car is stolen, or catches fire or for repairs in the event of an accident
Third party, fire and theft - same as above but covers loss by fire or theft
Fully comprehensive - will pay out for all of above and will pay to have your car repaired in the event of an accident
Third party is usual cheapest and fully comprehensive the most expensive
Tee prices vary greatly so the only way to find out is to get a quote
as far as In know 1st gen RX7's just have to pass a visable smoke test ... I will ask my dad as he works for the Vehicle Inspectorate ( Ministry of Transport)

the best way for you to find out would be to get quotes from some of the UK insurance companies others have discussed in this forum, its too hit & miss here for anyone to give you an idea what its gonaa cost you. :) most have an online quote facility.
