Press release here:
Formula Woman Reaches its 2004 Climax and recruits for 2005
This Sunday, 15th August, will see the final two races of the Formula Woman 2004 Championship and one lucky woman will be crowned champion. With double points at stake, there is all to drive for and almost anyone could win.
The programme, to be shown at 3.05pm on ITV1 follows the final two rounds of this inaugural championship, which is giving women the chance to compete in the previously male dominated world of motorsport. The championship has not been without controversy and the "women can't drive" arguments are still raging in living rooms across the land, but the one thing all agree on is that this championship has produced excellent, exciting motorsport for ITV, a welcome change after the predictability of F1.
The 45 minute programme (which will be repeated on Monday night) will feature the highs and lows of the girls progress and is jam packed full of incidents and accidents as each member of the team goes flat out to win the crown.
Now that Formula Woman 2004 is safely under the organiser's belt, a recruitment drive for 2005 will begin. There must be thousands of women watching the series who think they would like a go or could do better then those chosen for this years championship. Now it's their turn.
