i read this when looking at some engines for sale on an american website and i was wondering exactly what it meant and what the advantages are as i am getting my engine rebuilt in a week so wondered if it was worth doing...

"The stage 3 motor has race porting done to the intake and exhaust ports along with stage 3 oil modifications"

not exactly sure what oil modifications would mean in terms of performance and what sort of bhp gains would i get overall

disadvantages/advantages?? idea of a price??

any and all info is appreciated!!!

thanks

The oil mods, if along the lines of the ones in the racing beat 'black book' are all about increasing oil flow and pressure to ensure that everything stays happy under high load. In fact you loose a few HP with some of the mods as you are running at much higher oil pressure. HOWEVER, without them your high boost motor 'may' not last long.

There are, like with any engine, a preferred list of mods for each stage of tune.
