Hi all
I've just picked up my 1994 Type R (the day AFTER the Brooklands meet, doh!). I believe it is running standard shocks with some aftermarket spring kit, but don't know which yet (I haven't really looked underneath yet). It's extremely hard, too hard for cracked up British roads IMHO. Not just from a ride point of view (although a bit less bruising on my bum would be nice), but handling is skipping and jumping on the slightest road imperfection. The 18" wheels and rubber band tyres obviously do not help the situation :).
I'm thinking of putting some different springs on, and would appreciate opinions of any that people are running on. My first choice is probably an Eibach kit, as I've been in a friend's Eibach-equipped Evo 6 a couple of years ago and was very impressed with them - nice progressive springs which weren't much harder than the standard ones. I think the spring rates on Eibachs are not that much higher than stock, compared to some of the kits you can get. Also do not want much lowering, as the Veilside front end is low enough already (took a couple of paint spots off it 1 hour after picking it up, when I realised that it wouldn't go over a low kerb in front of a car park space :().
Anyway, suggestions or opinions most welcome.
Is anybody running aftermarket shocks? Opinons on these also welcome. I had a Leda kit on my Evo, and while I liked the performance, the rear ones always clonked, which has put me off the brand, to be honest.
Cheers
Andrew
