I have just got a new set of plugs for my turboII, and they are the side fire type (NGK BR10ET)
I know on normal endfire plugs you need to set the plug gap... ...is this the case with side-fire plugs?... if so, how do you go about it, and what should the gap be?...
Thanks in advance for your help

Hi Catboy,
You sure you have the right plugs there? sound like the non-turbo ones?
1989 - 1992 Turbo Manual, check out page A4 here: http://www.iluvmyrx7.com/2ndgen/manuals/89-92%20Manual/0_general_info.pdf
Should be running the:
BUR7EQ Leading
BUR9EQ Trailing
Gap is 1.4mm on those plugs, but I usually ran them as they were in the box.

Glenn is right. BR10ET is for the NA engine like mine.
You can't actually adjust the gaps can you as the earth electrodes don't actually go over the top of the central one?

thanks for the information guys... I posted a while ago, and was told to use BR10ET plugs in my car by someone else on the forum :(
I will get on to mazda and order some of the turbo ones above!... ...cheers Glen
The earth electrodes (3 per plug) dont curve over the central electrode, so I didnt think there was a way of adjusting, but thought I should check before fitting...
If anyone wants a set (4) of cheap NGK BR10ET plugs, brand new, let me know ( benjamin.hanks@virgin.net ) - £20 inc. postage

Hi mate,
Found the other post - which I have replied to, sorry about missing it in the first place.
Hopefully whoever you purchased them from will exchange for you.
