Hi Everyone,

I have had her about a month now and am very happy.:rollin

Just had a Alloy AST fitted at WGT (thanks PIP!) and would like any tips on upgrades. I use the car everyday so would like to make it as reliable as poss.

I also will be doing some track days (First on 23rd of April at Oulton) so any advice would be good (anything on keeping her cool etc.)

Only gripe would be the MPG:rolleyes:

Anyway what do you think?

Love your car---esp. in blue. I have the same in red. I haven't seen a blue one here. I live in Carlsbad, California, about 40 miles north of San Diego. Perfect place for an RX7 and there aren't many here. The RX7 car was last sold in '94 in California and I bought mine in '97. I wouldn't change it for the world. We hope the RX8 will be as good altho' I am not keen on it as it seems to have little resemblance to a sports car with four seats in it. Take care of you car and it will take care of you. I have had very little trouble with mine except when I had to have it smogged. It cost me $700 for a little valve to be fitted for California emissions and that is the problem with there being so few RX7's here. I drive mine every day to school and it sits in the parking lot 'til I take it home at 2:30 pm.

Montego blue RX7 donkey.
Deerrrhhhh..

Cooling for the track..
Make sure to top off and burp the coolant before hitting the track. Also make sure that you keep the gas tank full and do not boost on anything under a 1/4 a tank or you will get fuel slosh and pop your engine.
You can play with the ducting to your radiator. Plug any holes on the sides, pin open the mouth ouf the bumper, etc..

Also I forgot to let you in on a great cooling tip.
Remove the foam strip on the top edge of the firewall. It will allow hot air to escape the engine bay. You should be able to drop 10 degrees F.

Damn you Brits and your celcius. :D
