ok guy's ive a problem, im not sure what RX7 I should go for.
I've been looking at getting an RX7 from down south, the car has been in the country for 3 years. It is currently getting a rebuild engine from RX Motors, new clutch, replaced vacuum hoses. Its a 94 type-R with 49K miles on the clock. Ive been looking into this car for months now. I know another guy on this site looked at it after me so I wont say the price im offering. The down side is that its bog standard, no alloys nothing, its also the metallic green/blue colour. I was really after black. The car looks great and my head says go for it, but........................
I came accross this car for sale, its got a fibre glass hood, with the slats at the top of the hood (MazdaSpeed copy I think, possibly the real thing), its got MS-02's etc (Spec of car: Air Con,Electric Mirrors,Electric Windows,Power Steering,Alloy Wheels,After Market Stereo,CD,Mini Disc,Driving Lights,After Market Exhaust,After Market Induction Kit,After Market Suspension,Turbo Timer,Rear Spoiler,Tinted Windows) the thing that worries me about this car is that it has no ECU. I thought with these mods that would result in it running lean???? Also it was given a grade of B, I was told due to the replacement hood!!!! (Think thats right Ill check the email at work tom.) Does not sound right to me. I contacted the company selling it, and said what about a condition of sale being placed on it; sale subject to pasing a compression test. They are fine with that. Now my heart says go for it, it looks great! And should the engine go "POP" i'll sell the aloys to Henning to cover the rebuilt, (Only joking mate). What do you guys think????
