Hiya and Welcome Back.

Thanks for the great pics

Shame we don't have more of your fellow country men don't come on here as we could all learn loads from you, we are just as enthusiastic about Rotors over here but are a way behind Aus , but trying !.

Did you all realise the we even set up an Australian area for you all and that MRC was co-founded with an Australian by the name of Glenn Butcher who is the Chairman of MRC and has been back home for the last year in Marrickville NSW, building his 4 Rotor FD.

Sadly we have a lot of you guys register then never post, perhaps if your out on the forums at home you could tell them Mazdarotaryclub really is a genuine Anglo Aus site even though we are based in England and that we need a little more good Rotary expertise to help us along a bit over here.

p.s. saw FF with your car in, real nice you should rightly be one proud man.

i know of glen and his aussieness. ive chatted with him many a time on here, and ausrotary. weve both been in the rotor scene for a long time, we even use the same workshop, yet we have never met face to face, hectic. :D

ive never heard them called that before! we just call them down pipes, or dumpys.
i would have thought that any decent exhaust shop there would be able to weld one up for you?

Hi, beautiful example...
How is the upper inlet manifold in comparrison to the S5 one? Would you recommend the change, and what throttle body is used?

John

HI RPM RX3

Hey john, i was chatting to an engine builder here the other day and he was saying that s5 actually flow better, as they are suited to a turbo with a quicker spool up, ie , smaller turbo. i have never used one, but i have friends with very quick street/ race cars that use them with no problems, so if i were you, stick with it.

the throttle body is from a company here called injection perfection, im not sure if they have a site, ill try to google it for you. cheers, heath. :D

Hey guys, haven't been over here to say hi for a while now.
I have done a few small upgrades to the rx3 recently.
spent a lot of time and restoring the interior to standard etc.
also built myself a series 6 race car. will post up some new pics of both when I get some.
hope everyone is well.
cheers,
Heath

still looks lovelly, you have had this car a while now, must be like part of the family. What sort of spec is she running.

Is it just a street car or do put her through her paces on the track?

Edited to say the gold one!

Hey Tony,

It still has pretty much the same set up it had in the previous engine pic in this thread, its 13b series 5 turbo with a garrett t4 turbo and a microtech mtx8, though its a new motor.

Its running 350 hp @ the wheels at 14 psi. its a nice safe tune with plenty of power.

I did a couple of hill climbs in it last year but decided to get the rx7 for that sort of stuff now, was too worried about damage to the rx3. haha.

Hey guys, I hope everyone is happy and well,

I didnt want to waste space and make a new thread for this but a mate had a very decent crash in his RX2 a couple of weeks ago at one of our club track days at Wakefield Park. Some of you on Ausrotary might have seen it posted over there.

Here are some before and after pics..

Firstly, the obvious thing to say is that he is OK and that's the main thing, though it was a shame to lose that car. He got out almost straight away with only some scratches and bruises. The roll cage did it's job with some merit that's for sure.

Basically, as you can see by the left front rim he hit (a stupidly oversized) ripple strip on a left hander with threw him over once, forwards, then 4 more times sideways. He was doing approximately 140 - 150 k at the time!

We were racing the very next weekend at a dirt event in my dads Datsun so hasn't lost his nerve, or love for speed!
