Havent been on here as much recently but thought I would start a thread following my Time Attack season. Im entered in the club class rwd F/i.
1st round at Oulton didnt happen as the car wasnt finished in time.
The cahnges to the car over the winter have been to take it from a road/track car to a very focussed track car.
The complete wiring loom was removed and taken down to a bare min race spec loom with a etb instrumnets digi dash with gps for lap timing via a button located on the steering wheel. The car also had the 6 point bolt in hauser cage removed and replaced with a Nickson motorsport full cage with triangulation through o front suspension turrets. Mechanically the car has remained unchanged running a t78 on a street port at 1.1 bar.47689 47690 47691 47692
Ross at dragon has carried all of the work and he came up with several ideas to simplify working on the car at the track. We moved the ing amp, ecu fuses, and battery into passenger footwell. He also made up some mounts for my rear wing to mount off the chassis as the bootlid is nowan re am frp with lexan in. Also installed plumbed in fire system and external battery ciutoff to bring car up to regs for other championships that I may enter next year.
So this how the car was for 2nd round at knockhill

Knockhill Time attack
Actually travelled up on friday so i could get some time on track on sat to A. remember what it feels like to drive the car and B. learn the track and iron out any issues we may have.
Those of you that havent driven KH its well worth the drive up there, awsome track. Quite technical and def favours local knowledge. Did around 4 x10 min sessions sat and gradually picked up pace as day went on. Finished the day doing just sub 1 min laps( I have gps lap timer on my digi dash), based on previous year times I would need to go quicker but I was getting there.

Got track early and filled up fuel etc but noticed water injection tank was still full, after some investigation discovered the high seed flow sensor wasnt working so no WI. The car isnt mapped for water but in 1st practice I was getting very high egt`s. Spoke to ross and decided to run straight race fuel to keep temps down. Got down into 58`s in practice and was moved into group A. Qualifying was moved forward by 30mins which meant I was half way through a bacon roll when we where called to holding area with no fuel in car, mad rush chucked fuel in and got there but right in the middle of the pack, not ideal as you need clear track to get best times and not get held up.

Did 2 warm up laps whilst trying to let guys in front get clear so I had clean run, put in two or three good laps and decided to come in as tyres where going off, went back out but laps where messed up by people spinning in front of me. Felt I had gone quick enough to get into final. I had did a 57.8 4th in class.

The final was split into 2 groups I ran in the second was very congested and there was a lot of gravel on track in places, we let some psi out of the tyres to get a touch more grip as this had helped in qualifying, which did help but they went off far quicker so had no grip coming out of final hairpin, the one corner that I just did quite get right all session, the car was also down on boost only running 0.9 bar max instead of 1.1, didnt quite match qualifying run but did well enough to get 3rd which made the whole weekend and 11hr drive up there worth while.

Brands hatch write up
After my podium finish at Knockhill was really looking forward to this round, having never driven Brands and only having 2 sessions to learn the track didnt know what to expect from he weekend. Those of you that where ther will know how hot it was, tyres and engines where going to struggle!!!

I left my wheel nut tool at home so and due to its unusual size nobody had anything that would fit, I had to resign myself to one set of tyres all day.
Car was running really well and the alignment and cornerweighting had helped the turn in and rear end grip a huge amount. Just tried to learn the track and not push too hard to save tyres for later sessions when it counts.

Gradually worked times down from 55`s to a 54.1 in qualifying only did 3 hard laps and with a signal from the pits came in when we felt I had done enough to get in final. Qualified 4th in class behind a very quick exige and the two massive power whifbitz supras.
Was put in second group of a split final so had slight benifit of knowing what time I needed to beat. The exige and 1 supra went low 52`s which would mean taking nigh on 2 secs of qualifying time, the other suprs did a 53.4 so needed over half a second to get on podium. As i was running with the front wheel cars I was much quicker so let them get out infront of me did two gentle laps to get heat in tyres and went for two hard laps. Ran a 53.3 on the 4th then a civic decided to run three laps whilst chucking oil all over the shop!!! Huge delay in session went out again but with the clear up dust flying everywhere it was pointless.
Another 3rd place and actually 3rd overall in club on the day beating the usual 4wd boys. Massive thanks to Ross again for sorting water injection problem car ran really well and was quick! This results puts me in 3rd overall in championships having only done 2 of the 3 rounds so far. Cadwell park next on August 1st.

Cadwell park,
Amazing track to drive and with it being my first time around there fairly intimidating.
Only got 8 laps in total in first two sessions but was getting to grips with it. Qualified 1st in class just did enough to get into final.
Final was split into two groups due to the lack of overtaking places on this tight and twisty track. Got a couple of warm up laps in and 2 decent runs then a crx dropped its engine causing a fairly big off for the following civic. Session was stopped for 15 mins leaving us with 8 mins to try and better times but the track was covered in oil and clear up dust, visibilty was non exsistent. Had 1 sighter lap and decided to go for it. Ran a 1.41 which was enough to win my class by over 2.5 secs. Car def had a sub 1.40 but needed more time to learn the track.
Some in car footage from 2 nd practice session.

Now leading my class with 1 round left.

Well the season has finished after a great weekend at snett. Went up for trackday on sat to get a few laps in on the track as hadnt driven it before. Hoping we had resloved the few small bits with the car from cadwell. Had a few problem s with return line of base of turbo as it had split. Ross arrived late on on sat and it was sorted in no time.
49264
I was 20 point clear of 2nd in my class with 100 points available for 1st I needed to win the round to be sure of the championship.
49263
Sunday went out in warm up on 888 cut as wets to save my drys. Did 5 ish laps and was sat 2rd overall in club and 1st in rwd by some 4 secs. Car was running fine so decided not to go out in 2nd practice session. Qualifying wasa different story actually ran a 1.17.7 which was again putting me 3rd overall in club but the lap was discounted due to me evedently putting all four wheels off track, they let me keep my 2nd fastest time of 1.18.2 still qualifying me 1st in class.
49266
The final came around after some very boring periods at what is normally a quite good show but 30 trucks driving around the track at 30 mph blowing there horns is just plain annoying!!!
Was very aware of the 4 wheels off through chicane so had to change lines a touch and was held up in traffic alot but manged a 1.18 again to secure this round and the cahmpionship.

A massive thanks to Ross who has helped me build an amazing car that has out performed cars with double its horsepower. Touge distribution for the braking stuff from project mu cant recommend them enough. Opie oils and everyone for there suppport.
PLans are afoot for next year which may see an attack on the club pro class, details will be revealed as and when we know
