i just got an e-mail fron racing beat and apparently the port wall is quite thin so you have to be carefull, but they said the gain in power on a turbo lump is quite small.:confused:

Jason, that is interesting that they have said that. Was that for the inlet ports on an FD engine?
I suppose it really depends on wether you are going mild or wild. I know that porting is extremely important in high performance rotaries - that's where all the power is made on non-turbo engines, so therefore I think the same rule applies for turbos.
But they are probably right in that you can get the turbo to do the work for you when looking at a mild, instead of wild engine :)
If you go for a ball bearing turbo, you can gain significantly as opposed to a journal bearing turbo (quicker spool time, and overall better performance).
