I don't think anyone makes a hose kit for the 1st gen off the shelf

Yes I did by the elford kit you pointed out, its off one of our members. We are just trying to gather all the bits to fit it.

I need to know if its a 4 or 6 port engine.

How can you tell?

all UK supplied 12a's are 4 port engines. Only a very few are 6 ports as they were available in Japan only (Phranque has one though :) )
