Just a couple of things i'm wanting to change really. At the moment for the lights, they're not that bright on dipped beam! They're as effective as old minis sealed beam units lol, and I find myself checking the switch is fully on! Is there any bulb upgrades for my FC that someone can recommend, or even HID?

Also the stereo being an old cassette player/radio has to go. Will I need to get a loom adapter, or will a more modern CD player fit straight in?

Many thanks

Mike

I know what you mean about the OEM lighting, mine is running Halfords super brilliance bulbs, much better, but you can fit hids, you have to be careful with the FC as they have popups AND reflectors, so to keep the beam pattern you need to have a short bulb, but also has a motor to move either the lens or the bulb for main beam

Check out Mazda Rotary Parts:

There were group buys for them a while back, you will need to make sure that any HID bulb fits behind the headlights, so you can't just rush out and try any sort lol

As long as your wiring has not been messed around with you can buy the mazda/iso adapter things from ebay to fit most cd units. I might even have one but I will have to check to see if it will fit my loom.
The light are either going to be sealed beam which are actually very good and then you have some that are replaceable bulbs, if you can replace just the bulbs then just get some brighter ones. I would stay away from anything that claim to be 'bluer' as they are not really much cop in my opinion, tried them and they were rubbish. True HID is the way to go and most kits start from £70 or so.

Thanks for the info. I fitted some extreme brilliance the weekend and they're much better than stock. Wouldn't of thought they would've had sealed beams! Scary thought.

Had the stereo out the weekend too, and the wiring has been messed about with a bit. Think i'm going to have to do the old game of, trace the wire and bullet connector another stereo in. Fingers crossed I can have cd tunes soon!

fyi dont forget the stereo has got an amp also so depending what speakers u using might need to bypass the stock amp. also theres 6 speakers on the fc.
