As title really. A friend has a (bridge?)ported N/A FC running twin downdraught carbs he is restoring, and asked me to ask before he starts taking things apart.

Turbo manifolds for a 13B, I presume they fit N/A engines too?

If he decides against going blow thru turbo he will need new N/A headers as the ones on the car are knackered. Only N/A headers he said he could find was the OBX ones and Pacesetter ones, whatever they are?

Any advice I could give him would be appreciated :)

Racing beat headers are the best for NA rotaries, the rotors will be high compression, so turboing it wouldn't be a good idea!

Have n/a and turbo 13Bs got the same exhaust flanges?

Its not a road car so wont be running road fuel, so reckons he big turbo and low boost may be ok on race gas.

Hell, its his car, lets let him try if its do-able!

If it was the EGi engine then its a 6 port engine. The Turbo is a 4 port engine and they don't match. I've got a 4 port manifold on my 6 port engine but got a very rare adapter between the two !

He's talking exhaust manifolds.

To be honest the stock T2 Exhaust manifold is a little restrictive if you've a bigger ported engine like a bridge port - so probably best if he picks up a tubular manifold or something similar. As M1tch said, probably not going to be able to run much boost with higher compression rotors before it will run into trouble.

I believe sadgoth had a bridge ported T2 on a stock turbo for a little while, and it ran out of puff quite low in the rev range - the engine just too much for the little turbo.

Who said stock turbo and turbo manifolds? Not me, and that would be madness.

And I bet on race fuel you can run more boost on n/a comp than you can on pump fuel on T2 comp, but he isnt talking about running lots of boost, just lots of revs on a big turbo.

But nobody has said yet... Is the exhaust flange the same T2 and EGI?

In which case the answer is simple - yes - exhaust flange on the engine is the same.

Superb, all I needed to know, ill leave the rest to what he wants to do... :)
