Morning Mazda Rotary Club :wave

Im new here only signed up a month or so ago as I rcently bought myself a project its a Mazda RX7 TII FC3s

It has a blown engine which had done 122k before it went pop although I wa told by the previous owner it had been rebuilt at some point. I decided not to rebuild the current engine as I was told the engine had gone pop at 140mph so raher han risk an expensive rebuild I scoured egay until one luckily popped up :Laugh paid a tidy sum for a 60k rebuilt 13b engine , gearbox ancillieries, full engine loom , ECU and other gubbins.

The plan is to rebuild and get it road worthy while I also sort out the sills as one side is quite bad.

Here's a before picture of the car not too great but I havent really take any.

Like I said im new here so go easy.

A bit about my car history;

Well the rx7 should prove to be the fastest car Ive had from factory but Ive always been into my Japanese cars and being only 22 limits cars to own etc

My old car was this

Its a Honda CRX Si Tintop with a B16(Vtec Engine) swap with LSD and turbo it made 207bhp from a 1.6 @ 6psi

I rebuilt everything and tried to keep within the JDM theme I spent so much on this one as it was from Jap land originally before it came to the UK.

I am a car enthusiast and would like to say a take pride in my cars and also like to do most of the work on them although this is not my profession so again go easy :-)

anyway thats me :Laugh

Thank you Blitzboy,

The one on top which I still own is my 3rd CRX to date although its been involved in a rear crash so the insurance are dealing with it :( there decent cars for especially given the age 20 years + like the RX7 FC there's somthing about the old skool look of these types of cars :)

I think there are a few CRX enthusiasts on here I know Blimsa is on CRX UK and over here too I guess it was a good step up from the crx.

blackpool eh !! - not a million miles away then

there used to be another member in blackpool - but i think he sold up

we sometimes have a meet in Garstang - would be nice to see another FC there

shame its not a runner - you could have brought it to Rotorstock !

Thanks Guys :p

Yes he car was bought from Lancaster :-)

Cool so at least there's a few meet as I would like to try and get down to some as I spent so much time on the crx's I didnt often go to meets.

I know part of me wishes I bought a running one but figured I wuld save this from rotting away plus at least I have an engine waiting to go in.

Ive signed up to a few RX7/FC forums and im just reading and trying to absorb as much information as possible with regards to taking the engine out and replacing. I have rebuilt an engine (the crx) and found that quite enjoyable so hopefully it should not be a problem.

Nice to see someone saved it. I know the previous owner. If you feel like coming to Rotorstock tomorrow I have a spare ticket up for grabs.

Its a good club and everyone will help you if they can. Don't be afraid to ask questions you won't get flamed. The only stupid question is the one you didn't ask.
