View Full Version : Need rid of my doner car.

TiddlesRX7
7th July 2009, 09:34 PM
Well the time has come when I can no longer keep my doner car at my Nans house. The house is to be sold so I am gonna have to think about getting rid of the car. So if anyone is after some parts then let me know.
Its a 1991 UK TII in red SQ.

TiddlesRX7
7th July 2009, 09:55 PM
Nearly everything except front wings and bumper.
Seats are no good though ( well they've been recovered in a crappy cream leather).

Adrian have you got a polished uim or alternator in your doner kebab ?

L18M
7th July 2009, 10:54 PM
how much things going for..?

-instrament cluster (the outer back bit which u hit when the lights turn off when they ment to be on)
- elec window switch, drivers side (if they work well and not sticky when pressed)
- passenger seatbelt, mine is dirty due to broken window ages ago
-centre console lid / arm rest
-centre console, where the air vent is and covers the fan switches etc..

think thats it...

Afraid not mate (otherwise they would have gone on mine). The alternator is a bit scabby actually.

Err not sure mate. The bit behind the gauges? Thats the dash isn't it? or do you mean the gauge surround bit? Oh and not so much mate.

are you selling bits at "grinder" friendly prices ??? :D

Ade,

Did you manage to get the exhaust hangers off this - I only need the easily removable parts that mount the rear cans and Y pipe - they look like a figure 8 :)

If you can get them off ready for RS6 :cheers

Cheers,

Dave.

BTW - what are the front hubs like ? Bearings good ?

NeilSR
8th July 2009, 08:56 AM
what condition are the headlights in?

TiddlesRX7
8th July 2009, 08:58 AM
Err no I completely forgot Dave. I'll have a look later if possible and if I can get them off I'll bring them to RS6 with me. As for the Hubs, As far as I know they are fine. I can push the car around so they bearings arn't siezed or anything. I would however like to leave it as long a possible before removing bits like that as I need to be able to move the car about the driveway for now.

And most thing will be a at a Grinder friendly price Stu yes.

will you just get to a point where you scrap what you have left ?

Happy to wait for the hubs - so no worries there. But if can get the hanger rubbers off for RS6 that would be champion and worthy of a beer :cheers

8th July 2009, 12:25 PM
i guess its the dash then.. the black plastic surround where the indicator hangs off and light switches etc..

prof: i think i had a spare rubber on my fc. hangs the exhaust on passenger side. i dont need as the RE-a exhaust i got has the brackets and rubbers so once i get my fc back then u can have that if its the right bit.

I would love rear caliper if there still available?

TiddlesRX7
8th July 2009, 01:58 PM
Yeah I have both rear callipers. I rebuilt them last month too. only trouble is I must have trapped a seal or got some muck in at least one of them as I put the driver side one on and it leaked at the piston. Didn't bother trying the passenger side. Hows £50 delivered sound?

TiddlesRX7
8th July 2009, 02:00 PM
Oh that bit Liam. Right I'll have a look next time Im at the car and make sure non of its damaged and I'll get back to you. If I can get it off before RS6 i'll bring it with me.

(assuming it aint broke)

TiddlesRX7
8th July 2009, 09:40 PM
Think the window screen is ok. Can't remember seeing any chips or cracks. Although arn't they really hard to take out without breaking them as they are bonded in?

papercutout
8th July 2009, 09:49 PM
I don't know, but the one in the car I've got is cracked already (unroadworthy). I'd majorly appreciate you trying though, not managed to find one anywhere, for love nor money! Assuming it isn't cracked or chipped...

TiddlesRX7
8th July 2009, 09:56 PM
Ok I'll have a go at taking it out for you. It won't be for a while though as I need to keep the car water tight as long as possible. How desperate are you for it?

James H
8th July 2009, 09:57 PM
window washer motor (little motor on the bottom of the washer fluid bottle, maybe easier to just send the whole unit) please

papercutout
8th July 2009, 10:01 PM
Its the only thing really holding me back from moving the car to my driveway to start work on it - I have a 2 week deadline to get the welding etc done once it hits the driveway, and on the road! So, I can kinda wait, as the car can just stay where it is atm, but the sooner I can get it, the sooner I can get the car in my hands :D But I also can't move the car minus a screen!

Going by what you said; anyone know where's best to get a new windscreen seal for one?

L18M
8th July 2009, 10:24 PM
cheers man.. i'll take the screen washer bottle also pls.
the one i ahve atm is a smaller one so the fmic can fit.

hmm.. u sure ur fc is gonna be big enough to bring everything to R6..? hehe

TiddlesRX7
9th July 2009, 07:05 AM
James and Liam. I had to rob the washer bottle as mine broke when I had my bump. And I chucked the broken one and pump in the bin sorry.

Prof, Im not sure I'll check they've got 77K on them!

Papercutout, Have you thought about using your insurance to get the window replaced. Normally you just pay the excess (£50 or so for glass) and they come and fix or replace it for you. Plus it doesn't normaly effect your NCB.

James, I had to use it to fix my car mate. Sorry.

Sorry for the thread jack - but I think I have a spare water bottle from the drivers side with motor and switch - needs some silicon grease on the rubbers as it lets water out if overfilled. ;) I will bring it to RS6

Prof, Im not sure I'll check they've got 77K on them!

I only need the clutch one - mine is a tad lose :rollin, but I think the rubber bit is the same for brake / clutch, so it's likely one of yours is in better condition than mine.

Sorry Shiuko, I did indeed completely miss it. At this stage I need the shocks to move the car around. Athough the time when the car need to be gone is getting closer. Can I get back to you nearer the time? I do have however a set of Bilstien shocks for the rear if they are any good to you. These are ready to go.

Shiuko
28th July 2009, 12:35 PM
Any rough idea of when would they be available and price?
I'll have to pass on the Bilsteins as I'd prefer a matching set of four.

Well the car is at my Nan's house, and the house is to be sold. It is going on the market in the next week or two. So basically it could be anytime after then really, but I would say it would be a month or so at the earliest. How's £100 sound depending on postage cost.
