At work today I got talking to a guy from one of the sites I visit from time to time. Getting onto the subject of cars and what I owned he replied
"Oh I know two people with them"
one he said was a newer one (FD) and one he wasn't sure about. Yeah right I thought. He then told me that the one he wasn't sure about wes for sale and was litterally 1 mile away if I wanted to see it. So he rang the bloke and said I would be popping in this afterrnoon to have a looksee. Turns out is a G plate UK cab TII. 92k on the clock loads of history from new and in pretty dam good condition really. Only trouble is he wants £3500 for it. Way too much for my pocket to take but was really nice to see another one so close to me. There was a guy looking at it when I turned up so told him if he was to buy it to have a look on here. Jst before leaving the seller and I were chatting and he mentioned he thought the cars were rare till he found out another bloke 100yrds up the road had 2 of them a while back. Yeah right im thinking again.
"honest" he says "last I saw of them they were just rotting away on his driveway, he might have scrapped them now though" :(
So off I go vulture head on seeking out some more FC's Sure enough just up the road I find a quiet bungalow but the drive is full of a Merc a 4x4 and some weird Izuzu sporty looking thing. Then I notice (from the road) the corner of a white FC poking round the corner of a bush. So I go abit closer and sure enough a white cab thats being stripped and behind it a red cab that looks complete. just sat there looking very sorry for its self. At this point im banging on the door for the owner to see if they are for sale or if I could buy some bits. But alas no answer. Dam it. So now the plan is to get as many jobs in that area and keep popping in to try and catch the owner.
Then just to top it off I see a FD going the other way down the M6 on my way home. Four RX7 in 1/2hr I was on overload!
As you can probably gather I don't get manny RX7's near me. Espcially ones that I don't know about! What a day at work.
