Clive,
Many thanks for posting these up, as you can see there is still loads of work left to do before Rotorstock.
Gary, cheers.. we are all looking forward to coming over and hope to see yours on the move too.

ooohhhhh thats very sexy !
i like the paint , and the wheels and the v-mounted intercooler
but is it as quick as it looks :)
how come it has a white engine bay ?? was it white to start with ?
and where is the air box thing ?

I only just realised it is 2 tone! thought it was black then realised it was actually blue and the light was doing funny things that made it look darker at the front in some pics. Just finally realised that it is actually a 2 tone scheme - d'oh!
What nose is it Jon?

Hi,
Yeah, she was white, and i plan to have her finished( paint wise:) ) in time for rotorstock. If you have a look a couple of pics down of the bay, you will see the air filter underneath the intercooler and in front of the radiator.
She is reasonably quick, but both the turbo and clutch have given up the ghost, so new and better ones on the way. New intercooler coming too:D with wideband, so i can tune her properly.
The bumper is the original, with the extra cut in the top slope to aid cooling to the filter and intercooler. I am also modifying a new bonnet from an NA fc with TRD type vents to make the most of the intercooler.
I hope that she is ready and up to scratch in time for the show, and hope that there will be loads of FC´s in attendance too.
Cheers,
John

new intercooler eh - hummmmmm could do with another one !! ha ha ha
just a quick question jon - you seem to know your stuff on this
right then - open bonnet on a standard tII - the intercooler sits at the back ontop of the engine
when the bonnet is shut - the scoop directs air over the intercooler
is there a seal that is created around the intercooler and the bonnet - or does the air just flow in that rough direction ??
its just the the better half has a ( now dead ) mondeo TD , and there is a rubber seal on the intercool that seals itself to the bonnet when shut
i was thinking about this and was wondering if it was worth putting a foam block around the intercooler - so that when the bonnet is shut it forms a seal
this way you wouldnt draw in the warm air from the engine
or it is designed so that the fan at the front blows air over the engine AND the intercooler ?? ( although that would now be warm air )
just a thought - and yes a bit off topic !
looking forward to seeing you at rotorstock - i have a LOAD of little daft questions for you :) :)

I think mine has some kind of rubber seal on the bonnet that sits on the metal sorround of the intercooler from recollection?

Hi,
Under the scoop on the bonnet is a rubber seal which rests on the rim of the intercooler. Thinking logically here, with the air coming into the engine through the scoop, where can it go? All it is doing is creating low pressure at the top of the engine and in the bay as the intercooler doesn´t allow the air to run through it.
The main problem with changing the position of the intercooler, is that with the standered bonnet the effect of the low pressure is multiplied as the whole bay is then filled with air.
Sorry,I think i overdid it on the reply. Get carried away sometimes :reallymad

no seal on a scoob at all the air is directed towards the intercooler but certainly not sealed to it, may of misread what was mentioned previous doing a quick scan (at work ;))

well obviously sealed to it - that would look well wierd
just a rubber seal that seals from the intercooler to the bonnet

Stu,
If yours doesn´t have the seal on, i can send one over when i put the new bonnet on.

ECU, but no good for you as mine is a S4, injectors, EGR and emmissions crap, all the other stuf has been binned:eek:
What you after? If you need the seal, i can bring it over to Rotorstock.
