Anyone know if you can cancel an insurance policy mid-way through and get a refund for the remaining months on it?

or is this sorta thing dependant on the company

Company/policy dependant; some higher risk policies especially are non-cancellable i.e. u get nothing back if u quit mid-term.

Generally you can cancel anytime, some companies pro rata it and some just give you a percentage value that decreases dependant on how far into the term you are

cheers, was just wondering in case I get impatient and actually manage to find a mod-friendly under25 insurer (that doesnt want 2500+)

well I didnt think it was a lot, hence my confusion at the whole thing, here goes:

Bodykit (front, rear and sides)
Alloy wheels
ECU
Exhaust + downpipe
Filters

and also Coilovers + bonnet which aren't on yet, i was asking for quotes with and without.

Pretty tame I thought compared to some guys on here ;)

I thought about that when I was changing mine, but I soon found out they won't give you say 6 months no claims, you cancel midway through then you loose that, which is me was worth more than the excess paid :(

Thats the same as mine, I pay £1700.00 through Tesco if that helps

I am 23 and i've been banned !

Yeah I gave tescos a try but they said i had too many, perhaps cos 22 with 6 points (3 really but they ask for last 5 years).

Think the quote I got with them was with bonnet and coilovers on too though, had a cheap quote without them on so wasnt worried about that

Insurance is a pain in the arse, they all make it up as they go along anyway

Agreed:D one day we'll be old gits and wont have to worry so much:D

Whole age things annoys me, just cos some 20-somethings drive like *$~# doesnt me I do, even more annoying when a 50-something drives into the back of you and totals your car because he had a cold and hadnt noticed you'd stopped at the junction. Im the risk?
