I was looking to buy some plugs.
Done. Bit of Reading about. I hate flooding!! So was thinking of getting some 9's and 7's.
Most people seem to run 9's all round. That's what's in my car just now, but they have seen better days!
Your thoughts?

I ran 7's and 9's when mine was stockish, and they really reduced flooding - i could turn stop the engine after only a few seconds, and it would start right up again with no issue. But that was also on a fresh engine. I run 9s and 10s now.

Thats a really good price. What brand are they and where did you get them from?

9's alround are fine. UK spec cars came with 7's and 9's but if its a strong engine the 9's are fine, if its a bit tired then I would keep with the 7's matey.

Any chance of a link to these £24 plugs. Because that is ludicrously cheap.

I'm now thinking.. did I buy the wrong plugs? lol
Are bur9eq the same as bur9eqp ??
I was reading about Rx7 plugs and it listed bur9eqp , but then had bur9eq in brackets next to it so assumed they were the same?
Anyone??
Why would they be ok for 2nd gen and not 3rd? Also, I think the P on the end stands for platinum. What difference would that make? shorter life?
Anyhelp appreciated on this one! :D

Was reading online that someone was testing using the non platinum plugs and noticed no difference.

"Also regarding platinum vs non, I personally think its better go cheap and change them often than relying on platinum plugs and leave them in longer..
Someone correct me if I'm wrong.. but I thought non platinum actually sparks better. I change my plugs every other oil change or every third oil change. Since its not my daily, it's like 2-3 times a year."

Apparently there is no difference in performance between the platinum and non 'P' NGK plugs apart from that the platinum will last a lot longer and obviously are more expensive. 7's are ok as stated before if the engine is getting tired but generally 9's all round is a good choice and more freely available. If you have starting problems and everything is setup as it should then bung some 7's in there and see if it makes any difference. They will be good as a spare set if nothing else. It always pays to have a spare set off plugs as this is a major cause of problems regardless of the age of the plugs. I have had new plugs fails in a very short time.

When I spoke to CLive at MRP, IIRC he said that they dont recommend the platinum ones because theres next to naff all difference in performance. They may last longer in a normal car but you'll be replacing them every 5k or so in a Rex anyway - or at least you should be!!!

i stuck 7s and 9s in mine for the last 2000 miles just because i ordered some 7s by mistake, hasn't made any discernable difference. I'll be going back to 9s next time i change them

Have you got these and tried them out yet?
Are they ok for an FD?

Those plugs are recommended for the FD as well, don't worry. Thats what I use. But I don't bother with the platinum ones.

Yeah, I've put them in my car with no problems at all.
Will be using them from now on!
