ive just toped up with 10w40 castrol mineral ! but looking to change the oil next week and was wondering what you use :)

i always get mine from opieoils, i get the fuchs silkolene 10w40 has worked well for the 5 years ive had the car, im now running on a single tubby but i dont think there is a reason for different oil because of the single tubby

I use Castrol 20W-50, anything thiner seems to get chewed up pretty quickly.

thanks guys ! would you say theres any diffrence in a aftermarket oil filter compared to a mazda part i got offered 4 aftermarket ones for 10 rupes ?

Unsure on that one buddy. I use just normal filters. I have 2 due to the oil cooler kit that I use.

I have it on good authority that most oil filters actually come off the same assembly line - only difference is the stamp and box that they get.

Make of that what you will!!

I just use the halfords one (HOF257 is the code) and never had any problems (well apart from the bloody thing being attached upside down!!)

thats intresting ! i know its not gospel but i can see what there getting at by saying use as larger filter as possilbe !:cheers
