Please don't flame me, as it's just a thought, nothing more...

but I was thinking of if it was feasable to put an RB20DET in an FC3S?.

Also, you rekon it would upset the cars balance somewhat?

Cheers.

It would be pretty bad I imagine. RB20 is going to be pretty big too I imagine an SR20 would be a better option.

Anyway you havnt even got one yet :p

:censored::censored::censored::censored::censored: ;) :p

It was just a thought, though I can't really see it working myself... just wondered if anyone thought different :)

Hmm, there seem to be a fair few threads relating to engine transplants at the moment. In days gone by Blasphemy was a serious crime! :rollin No, seriously as well as being a bit different the rotary engine has several major advantages over pistons which I'm sure everyone knows but just to remind the non-believers :p firstly it is smaller therefore much lighter than an equivalent piston engine,
secondly less moving parts (theoretically less places to go wrong),
thirdly ability to rev higher with minimal modification.

OK so it drinks petrol like a bas$%rd, it will need a rebuild at some point (although to be fair so would a piston engine eventually) and there aren't many people out there who know what they are doing when working on the engine but there are enough so that every part of the country is covered.

So lets stop the Blasphemy and all hail the Rotary!
:D :rollin :cool

cheers

there is an FD on the web (us) with the 2.0 turbo nissan engine, (dont know the codes) he has 500 + BHP at the wheels and is running 10's on the 1/4 mile. It looked nice to!

I had some one who wanted to put an RB26DETT in to an S14 and his reason was he wanted an easy 400bhp that was reliable.

The weight of the engine is nearly double to the origanal, and you would have the same problems as this with an RX and putting the RB20 in to it.
It would most likely need a skyline GTS gearbox a bigger rad and the weight tranfere on the car would be sh#t unless you had the RB engine in the same area as the 13b. Then the prop would not fit and the gearbox is then further back in the car and you would end up needing to redesign the car on a CAD machine because you have just f##%ed up one of the best balance cars to be made.
You would be better off spending the time and money on having the 13B tunned.
Well thats what i think about the matter, some may agree and some won't but thats not to say all engine transplants are not worth doing and you would be better off with an SR20DET and thay are good for 500bhp.

Cool, co-owner huh?? thats handy to know you down this area, so you able to do any RX work then? theres another member 'Crusher' needs water seals or something like that done, lives down Beckenham, but a bit worried to drive it too far to solve the problem,

so i guess you are just waiting for the right REX to turn up now then? must be a joke putting up with the bag of sh*tas you put it, well goodluck mate.
