There's also http://www.autotechmotorsports.com/projects-20bfd.htm. I've talked to them via e-mail. Essentially, you bring them a 20B, exhaust header, turbo, ECU, tranny, etc...and they'll mount it with the front rotor in about the same location as the 2 rotor, with the stock oil pan, without cutting the firewall. Price is about $14K and they modify the shifter of the stock transmission so that it's in about the same spot. Not sure they're real keen on tuning ability as their single turbo 20B is making about 450hp. Same as my 2 rotor :-)

MVA Motorsports (Marcos Acosta) is doing the custom oil pan to eliminate bump steer. Same price as a Pettit conversion, just as extensive. Uses a Microtech. Quality unknown as only one car is being converted currently. The good thing about MVA is that Marcos is one of the premier engine builders, especially 20B's, in the world. He'll guarantee you a MINIMUM of 600hp on pump gas, more like 750 :-)

Pettit. I've seen them in person. I live close enough to visit whenever. Quality is first rate. They have an aluminum work shop adjacent to the shop and the extra level of attention he gives to the installation makes it worth the cost. On the downside, it uses the stock exhaust manifold and reworked stock turbos. Can you say back pressure? Additionally, it requires the steering rack to be moved. Some say it's a problem, some say it isn't. None the less, the car is wicked fast and they claim over 500hp (but I think it's more like 450).

PFS. Has lost the trust of many an RX7 enthusiast. I'm not even going to touch on them. There's plenty of info on the "other" forums.

There's always the DIY too. Purchase the Pettit subframe (or the MVA setup if he ever decides to sell it as a kit) and engineer a few things yourself. It can be done for about $14K total.

Since I am in the research stage of converting to a 20B, I'm not completely happy with any of them. Ultimately, I'll more than likely have MVA locate the engine further back and run a Richmond or Jerico box. I want to try and avoid running a front mount as I intend to use it for occasional track days. The other option is to have my car shipped out to Autotech with an MVA built 20B.

There is A reputable company in the USA that does 20 b conversions. I will dig up over the weekend and try and find details for you. I can't promise though my wife is continually moving, my stuff all of over the house.

rx7tt95,

I agree with you.. I have a friend here in town who currently have 20b, rz tranny, and getting ready to port his 20b with maybe race or bridge port.. I have no idea how its going to work out..

Anyhow, I thing MVA is located in NJ?? If so, I think we are talking about the same people.. I been told that he does not want to sell his oil pan.. With it, i heard its almost straight drop in..

They also guarantee 1000+HP at 20 or 22lbs of boost.. or your money back.. I don't know how try that is..

Well, I just wanted to know what other countries are doing with 20b.. how they install and how they tune.. I did hear tuning is not that easy..

Yes, MVA is located in New Jersey. He'll provide maps for 1000hp + as long as you sign a waiver :-). The only thing keeping me from going with MVA is the fact that the motor sits in about the same location as Pettit's conversion. Too far forward in my book. I'll just have him build me an engine. Maybe dry sump it. Dunno yet.
