I've just been doing a bit of surfing and I came accross a Cosmo for sale with an importer in Japan.

www.ridhaa.com

It's a 1990 13b Type S in silvery grey, recorded mileage I calculated to be about 32.000.

From the pictures the car looks absolutely immaculate inside and out (better than mine in fact).

I nearly fell off my seat when I did the currency conversion, it's for sale for £886.00 !

Even taking shipping, registration & SVA in to account I reckon that you could be on the road for about 3 grand.

I even thought about buying it myself but the wife would kill me.

I SO want one of those cars, that one did look lovely. According to the website it's been sold now. A couple of weeks ago I went and viewed the one that sold on Ebay for £1400 a couple of months ago. Unfortunately it has had a very hard life. The interior is a mess and the engine is shot. It stalls when you put it in gear / turn the aircon on or put the steering on full lock, the old Ro80 engine tests! No compression. Also a very strong smell of burning oil. Shame, he was a nice guy but I think he unfortunately got a bit stitched up buying it, the previous seller claiming that the engine had been checked by RX Motors. I do really want a triple but a 13b would be nice too i'm sure.

That's a real shame, it looked so nice.

I got mine through Chris Watkins at hsimports.com. He mainly imports cars to special order but he imported mine & used it as his own car for a year. A really nice guy to deal with he only imports top grade cars. His wife is Japanese & translates all the service histories in to english.

If you really want one he may be able to help you. But they are getting scarce.

Regards

Tim

Best to get these cars out of Japan Tim. If they dont get sold then the delaer sometimes scrapes them & thats another rare Cosmo off the roads

NZ & Oz can't import these anymore due to Gov regs, so its up to you guys........
