Hi Guys,

I just joined up and wanted to say hello.

How strong is the scene getting over your way?

Do you guys have many drag racing tracks? or is it mainly circuit racing that is popular?

I am actually heading over to the UK in June to work for a few years, so it is good to see you have a Rotary scene on the go.

What would a 3rd gen RX7 be worth (in pounds) over there?

Thanks,
Shaun.

Welcome along Shaun, your input is going to be very valuable to all of us here in the UK.

There are a few drag tracks, but the weather here is the main killer I think. The fastest rotary we have to date is Ant's (www.reworx.co.uk) FD RX-7 running a 12.7 @ 118mph - great mph!

Circuit Racing is very big of course, but not many rotaries at all (apart from the RX-8's in 2004 with www.formulawoman.com).

You can pick up a crappy 3rd gen. for around £5,000, a reasonable one for around £10,000 - so they are actually much cheaper than what they are in Oz.

.ps I think your signature has to be one of the best I have seen "PISTONS MAKE GOOD ASHTRAYS!"
:D

dont know about an rx4, but for an rx3 (if ya can find an original that someone wants to part with) a :censored::censored::censored::censored:ter will set you back anywhere between $5000-$8000Aus.
for a decent rx3 $10,000-$15,000Aus.

as for importing costs i wouldnt have a clue.

MikeLMR

OUCH ! so I'd be looking at £5K -£6K + import duties :( well thats knocked that plan on the head

Glenn Butcher

Possibly Mike - but that could get you a 9 or 10 second street car :D

MikeLMR
5th March 2003, 10:13 PM
so those prices are for the modified ones  might not be bad deal after all :D (evil grin)

how much for totally stock one ... or even a non rotary coupe

I'm not fussy :)

having said that I've been looking at AE86 corollas again ... for a daily driver ! AM I MAD or has my sense of reliable and sensible cars been killed by owning a 1st gen :D

If you work on spending around $6,000 AUS you will get an RX2, 3 or 4 coupe or sedan of some sort in OK condition. It won't be heavily modified, but should be in fairly OK condition.

So really you should work on spending between 2,000 to 2,500 pounds for the car and then around another 1,500 pounds for shipping, then add your local taxes and import duties.
