Does anyone have any experience with A'PEX AFC units (not the AFC-S or S2)
I have been offered one at a stupid give-away price, and wondered if anyone has any experience, can offer any information on wiring/instalation, etc... ...It doesnt have a specific wiring harness or installation instructions, and its just come out of a 323GT-R, so I dont have anything to copy
Thanks in advance for your help

its not the one off e-bay, but thats where I found pictures of it (a'pexi dont seem to mention it on their web-site)
Its come out of a mates car (323 GT-R) and he wants £20 for it... Im not sure if its any good to me, as my car is std except a catless s/s exhaust... I am however planning a front mount intercooler, aftermarket bov, turbo timer and digi boost controller over the next 12 months...
...is this worth £20 to me, or would I be better off putting the money toward something else?...

what exactly does it do though ???
i have been looking at one of these on ebay and it looks like a cool toy
only mods on my car are janspeed exhaust , k&N panel filter and air pump removal
now i have been told that my car runs rich on start up - due to air pump removal supposedly
so - would one of these be ideal for my car ??
would it affect mpg ??
let me know !
thanks

the afc adjusts the air signal to the ECU, basically allowing you to increase or decrease the air signal buy 30%... ...this in-turn causes the ECU to adjust the fuel... the AFC unit is a single setting, ie just shifts the fueling map up or down, but maintains the std shape
The S-AFC (slightly newer, but still analogue) allows you to adjust (still +/-30%) at 800, 2400, 4000, 5600 and 7200 rpm (the unit then creates a smooth curve through the new points and adjusts the fuel map accordingly...
The new S-AFC II is digital, and I think allows the air signal (and hence the fueling) to be adjusted at 30+ points in the rev-range, so can be tuned more accurately... ...bit like a basic, realtime adjustable, programmable ECU
I have an instalation manual for the S-AFC from the Apexi web-site, and it doesnt look too difficult to install, but Im not sure what the earlier AFC unit is like...
