They will then undergo intensive driver training in preparation for the race-series due to kick off on 23rd May.

ITV revealed their coverage plans at this years Autosport International Show (January 2004.) The well-known TV motoring correspondent, Vicky Butler-Hendersen will present the series, kicking off in May with a one hour launch programme which will cover the initial assessments, selection of the 50 girls and the process of elimination from 50 to the final 16.

The drama and excitement of the knockout stages will feature in five, Monday – Friday, daytime programmes in May and the Mazda RX-8 one-marque Championship will be shown over ten Sundays as part of ITV's Formula 1 coverage – building up to the final race which will be shown live from Brands Hatch in July.

A car with 1 lady occupant went to my cafe on the A49 near Oulten Park at the weekend. On the car was Formula Woman.

*gutted* about this one, I actually got through to the qualifying races, did a track day with them with the Celica - alas work prevented me from actually getting anywhere with it last year -but going to reapply this year.

One of the girls who went with me got into the final 50 - her name is Sarah and she's a great driver - maybe the next Vicki Butler-henderson?!

Im waiting for this to start, mainly just to see exactly how the last 16 have been chosen. Ive heard that not all the final 16 are there on driving abilty so the lap times might be interesting!
