Save me searching the car, where is it, same place as the FD?

On the subject of ECU's.

RE-Amemiya have ceased production of the REdom range of "chipped" ECU's to suit all 8-bit systems

NA MX-5
FC RX-7
HC Luce
JC Cosmo

However, DO-Engineering have taken up the challenge. Have just scored their 1st "Chipped" ECU for a Cosmo guy here in Sydney.

We will be doing a before/after dyno session in around 2-weeks time & will post the results

Their ECU upgrade should do the same as the REdom version.

Remove 180km/h speed cut
Remove 0.70-bar boost cut
Remove conservative IGN map
Remove conservative Fuel map
Remove "limp mode" on trivial error codes

More aggresive Fuel/IGN map
More boost, up to 1-bar
Use up to 100% duty cycle on injectors

Here is a pic of my "chipped" ECU from RE-Amemiya

Note "REdom" stickered Eprom chip (standard 2756D) in foreground. This is the reprogrammed IGN map.

Note mezzanine board just aft with processor, RAM? & eprom chip combined. This is the reprogrammed Fuel map & fuel controls such as boost cut, speed cut, limp mode.

Yes, once Do-Engineering get this right, they will do it for the 13B version too.

Update is that the ECU delivered was a failure & has been sent back to Japan to be re-programmed again. There was no 2nd turbo operation which Do explained as a difference in firmware but I interpreted as a simple screw up.

Shall report on its progress once its posted back to Sydney.

BTW, the Do ECU is actually a REdom mini so I am guessing they are just using the guy who did all the RE-Amemiya programming or they have purchased all the 8-bit N.O.S from RE-Amemiya. Either way, it was of minor amusement when we opened the "Do ECU" to find the REdom firmware.....

me too, i'm hoping to get my 20b uk registered and on the road this year (asap) and i'd like to know what mods i can make to up the power. what would people recommend as the first steps to modifying it? i'm not wanting to go mad (i.e. single turbo, nos etc) but am thinking ecu, breathing, exhaust?

Good news is that the ECU has returned from Do_engineering & with its new program. Its working fine.

The Cosmo feels as strong as my Cosmo & shall be posting results as soon as its dyno'ed. Due to a restriction found in the exhaust, its coming out first before the cosmo is re-dyno'ed
