88 RX7 turbo engines have 8.5 to 1 compression ratio,as compared to FDs which have 9.0 to 1.

All the Turbo engines (second/third gens) ran the same Compresion. The only one that ran diffrent Comp was the second gen NA that was higher.

I am quite clued up on Second gens and there is very little diffrence between the S4 and S5 engines the rear plates are a bit prone to cracking around the dowl holes (S4) and the Turbos are are not quite as good (run lower boost aprox 5psi S4, 7psi S5) hence the power diffrence.

The Rotors are the last thing you should be looking to change if you are thinking of running 18psi.

If its not a daft question why are you Importing a Second gen? they are not expencive hear? Can you get hold of Modified ones or somthing?

Here in Oz, the RX7 which was sold in Australia came in Rotary Nautrally Aspirated only. The Jap verisons had Rotary Turbo. It's also a lot cheaper to buy one from Japan, they come with lower km's and some cool aftermarket mods. The downside to this is that they sometimes have bad interiors and exteriors and are hard to find in a manual. Think I may have changed my mind to a JZA70 Supra.........

G'Day Pooch,

No - you will find Mazda sold quite a few Turbo II RX-7's there (Series 4 and 5).

I thought that you couldn't import from Japan to Oz and drive on the road - unless you have owned and driven one in Japan. Have they changed the rules?

You can import any car into Australia without worrying about compliance as long as the car is 15 years old or older. So up to 1988 is the cut off. May include first of the series 5's.

Why dont you get an FD?

Why a Supra!?!?

If you want massive power get an R32 GTR, If you want style and noise + hooligan performance get an FD! ;)
