Hi everybody, first time here.
I heard some mates was talking about the engine size classifying in DVLA for 2nd gen Rx7
Is that true if we can bring the specifications from mazda and log book to the dvla and they will change it to 1300cc to get cheaper insturance? What if my FC is a imported one?
Cheers

Hey,
my cars logged as 1300cc on the V5, but the insurance company wouldn't except it!!!
Any tips / ideas to a way around this? what do i need to do? makes the insurance so much cheaper if reg's as 1300cc.
Any tips appreciated;)

You can register it as 1300, but its not going to make a difference with the insurance company. Its still the same car. If it does, im thinking your are not covered correctly so its something to be careful about.

JA4 RX,
Doesn't the insurance become cheaper if the engine size is smaller?
As 2.6 will be more expensive than 1.3 no?

It's not going to make any differnce whatsoever, Insurance companies know the Rx-7 as a high performance sports car, whether you register it as having a 1.3 or 2.6 engine.

The insurance is based on the 'performance' not the engine size.
Mine taxed as 1300 but there is no way an insurance company will consider it anything other than a performance car.
Do you blame them?

1.3 or 2.6 will be the last of your worries once you start mentioning T78, Bodykit etc! You were doing that wernt you ;)

Put it this way, LOADS with £500 excess thrown in, over £2000+,
funny as the cosworth was £2600 and not even close on performance!!!:reallymad
T78 doesn't help:eek:
