Does anyone in here have any idea what the insurance on the RX-8 is likley to run to... I will be upgrading to this but I may have to loose my cousin off my insurance which is a shame... he's not got any points or accidents etc... but he's only 18.
He only drives when we're together, doing a long trip or somthing... but I'm concious that I may have to exclude him if I get this car.

Insurance confirmed as group 15 for the 192ps and 16 for the 231ps. This is achieved with a standard Cat 1 Alarm and immobiliser fitted.

FYI, car insuance groups are "guidelines" only and are provided by the Association of British Insurers.
There is no legal requirement for an insurance company to use the groupings provided by the ABI. The same vehicle can be rated as different groups by different insurers.
For example, in Nov 2001 my Civic EP3 was rated as either g-17 or g-18 depending upon the insurance company you spoke to. Also, some g-17 quotes were higher than g-18 quotes for the same level of cover. This is also quite legal.

My insurance is running me at $60.00 a month for full coverage. This is cheaper than my Jeep Liberty 4X4 which is 68.00 so I'm very pleased.

I've been doing a bit of online quotes & found that they can range from £ 1300pa to £ 800pa.
This is with 0 years no claim bonus etc.
Elephant.co.uk gave a good quote for 5 years ncb of around £ 540.
Best of luck ! :p

I have my insurance with AON as recommended by Clive... and I phoned them yesterday to discuss adding racingbeat suspension and catback system... they told me that it would not cost me any extra.
Currently paying 1000 for full cover.

I settled for £655 with First Alternative (sister company of Esure) with London postcode, offstreet parking, 7 years NCB, no convictions, 1 accident claim in last 5 years (uninsured third party hit me so was deemed to be my fault!!!), protected NCB and legal protection all in and total excess £500 (compulsory and voluntary).
Adding the wifey to policy brought it down by £30.
Nobody else could come close and I just laughed when they gave me figures of £1300 :rollin but Tesco quoted £813.

Another vote for First Alternative here, following a shafting by Mazda insurance :reallymad (see my post in the Insurance section)
~830 quid on driveway, 30, 4 years NCB, business use, excess 250, loaded postcode. (I live in one of those big postcodes where half of it is posh and half of it is gangland.)
Before I take it up I'm going to phone Mazda / Zurich and explain my grievance and could they sort it out please otherwise I've got this quote here from First Alternative...
