Does anyone know EXACTLY what the power button does? I have heard all sorts of rumours, someone told me that it increases the boost level but the only difference that I can tell is that it holds on to the gears for a bit longer.

You are right,in power mode if you hold the gears longer then you will obviously get up the rev range where more power is available. It does not increase the boost.

DMRH.com.au site also says that it increases throttle response.

Just had a look at the FSM and the shift diagrams appears to show that the auto box will kick down quicker (e.g. 1/8 of an throttle position? at 60km/h) when the power button is pressed-hence throttle response i guess. This is all guess work as i cant read japanese.
