Hi,
I think there should be a section for service's offered and possibly recieved too?
What do you think?
I think the Vendors section does not cover this properly with vendors parts and vendors cars for sale.
Any thoughts?
It also would distinguish between someone who offers a service and then sells a car privately not as a vendor.
Kind regards
Carl:rolleyes:

I think I see what you mean now Carl, having gone to the vendors sections to find your and Geff's contact details to reply o another thread with; we need a section (that cannot be replied to) that lists what vendors sell/provide, and their contacts info. This info seems to have gone with the restructuring of the vendors sections...
Is this kind of what u meant Mr H. ??
It would be a list of vendors and what they supply and where they hang out; people wont be able to reply to the section, posters will just be able to amend their details when things change (not to be confused with changing it every day when they want to flog some thing specific of course ;)).
May be another section with the same list of vendors where customers can post their experiences for others to view...
Any one out there?

Yes we do need a thread running that only lists Vendors and their ware's for information purposes only to be amended only by the person who puts up the thread or a moderator and not to be replied to.
Moderators can this be done?
This should work as any praises or disapprovals of company's from a thread that people are unable to reply to should show up in the chit chat area.

I will make a new section for 'vendors services provided' or summut - so we can see how it looks...

Yeah Clive easy.
Create the post, make it a sticky, and then lock the thread. If someone needs to be added to the list a moderator can edit it still. Would be a good referance point.

Hi guys,
I see that this has been created - good stuff.
I also see that you have checked radio button for "Moderated = Yes" good stuff (Rich?).
Anyways, it was the initial plan to have such a thing (and it was in the original Vendors Section) but kind of got lost.
Rich - I don't think the items need to be stuck (maybe for Brian though as he is a paying Vendor).
But it would be a good idea to also put in a "Sticky Note" about the section, who is allowed on there etc.
Let me know what you all think.

Yeah, agreed mate. Stickies for whats good/whats not good and for those near-mythical paying advertisers so they are at the top of the list :)
Bri can sort out amending/deleting & re-doing his entry, I was just testing...
I wasnt too sure what Clive was saying about people experiences/opinions of companies; I think u were saying leave it to fester in chit-chat? or do we want another sub section of 'Vendors' where people can put (moderated!) reviews of the service etc they've had...

I think it will be a tough one to create a section where people can post comments on vendors.
Even if it is moderated it might cause hassle as for one it will need to be moderated.
It isn't a bad idea, but could lead to hassle?

All l meant was if we keep that a clean thread with no reply's good or bad people will soon find elsewhere to post if they wish to comment on a particular company.
p.s. the Brain at the top idea l think IS the right thing to do and the paying Vendors that contribute and support MRC as Brian does should have a small tag attached on this thread ??

Gotcha.
As Glen says it would probably be more hassle than its worth to have a 'service received'-type thread, there are bound to be disagreements in what should be allowed and what shouldnt
I think its right to 'sticky' those that pay too; it keeps them at the top of the crop, non-payers will get listed and end up where ever unless they see fit to contribute.
So should we unlock the thread so Vendors can add their details? All posts should require moderator approval so we can ensure that no-ones got the wrong idea or are trying to take the :censored::censored::censored::censored:....

Yep, every Vendor that wants to post an item should have their own thread with their company name in the Subject.
In the body of it:
Services they provide.
Address and Contact details etc.
Anything else??? Vendor Type perhaps?
The structure of this will then form the basis of the "Sticky Note" on the top i.e. "Posting Rules" so people know what to put.
Threads are then to be moderated by the moderators, ensuring that the structure is consistent (this also needs to be made obvious).
So on the basis that there aren't that many rotary vendors in the UK, it shouldn't get too messy. I know there are parts suppliers, car suppliers etc. - this can also be covered in their thread.

As a side note how about RX7 suppliers etc who dont use the board, at least that i've seen, such as Hurley & the like. Not trying to take anything away from those suppliers who do use support & help greatly with the board but if this is almost like a links page/section with comments of customer satisfaction thrown in shouldn't we be able to add suppliers who may be used by MRC members both to recommend or forwarn?
