Evening all,

Just wondering if anyone on the site has fitted a powerflow exhaust to there T2?

I phoned them a while back and they offered to make a 3" stainless system from the turbo to a single end can (no cats) for between 350 and 400 GBP.

What do you reckon?

Did'nt know they could do 3 inch cool..
but check out what they have packed them with
they may be fibreglass and with rotary heat they may burn
through.
Go wirewool if you can.
With 3 inch pipe and no cats youll def hit fuel cut
with a F.C.D. youll boost to destuction preety quick.
prob hit 12-13ibs pop their go's another one!

I used TubeTorque the are good guys, but its up north.

If i was geting an exhaust sorted i'd make sure its Mandrel bent,3" and has Steel wool packing.

power flow exhuasts ARE NOT MANDREL BENT at least not any i have seen and as for being stainless steel when you go to get one fitted take a magnet with you because as you should remember from school a magnet won't stick to stainless steel so when the magnet sticks to the pipe and to their boxes (the boxes even have pressed into them the words powerflow stainless steel performance exhuasts or some thing similar) you can claim that you are a magician!!!.LOL
I have only seen their one off systems which are about as cr*p as you could ever wish for with huge deformation of the bends, they used 45mm piping which shrunk around the bends to a considerably smaller diameter (this was fitted to an mx5 whose owner will remain nameless but he works for a national car mag so you would of thought they would have done it properly).
I don't want to sound too slaggy but powerflow exhuasts are fine for the nova boys but not on a real car. I've had to take off several systems for customers due to rotting away of both pipe and box's normally within six months of powerflow fitting them. Also i am pretty certain that the boxes they use contain fibreglass(rockwool) so are no good for rotary use even for 12A normally aspairated cars.
If you want a real exhuast system and to prove i'm not biased ring Haywood and Scott 01268 727256 be warned they are very expensive but are probably the best exhuast maker in the u.k. Of course we could make you one here were i work but i'm not going to mention that becuase i don't agree with pushing your own company on club forum's, we have our own forum for that.
hope i've posted in time

Yep, I use Tube Touque for that Reason they Use mandrel bent tube and its Tig welded together, They are very nice peice of kit.

My Exhaust was Custom made for my car i took the car there on the wagon and he spent Two days making it, and i can say i would recomend the Guy to anyone in the UK (I would travel to use him again)

The mad thing is i had a Full SS Exhaust for a T2 that is 3 1/2" down pipe to Y then two 3" pipes to the twin 4" Tails and it cost me £750 i dont think thats bad considering the time spent on it and quality of the exhaust.

To all concerned the company/ companies I work for are called DS Engineering and Shy Auto Developments, if you subscribe to the F.D list you will see us getting mentioned occasionally. I don't like to push who i work for on club forums as I feel it is not the way to conduct your self, people should find you through your merits or customers recomendations not through how loud you can shout!!. Plus I am a member of the club and the forum as an individual and not for trade purposes, I was'nt trying to hide who I work for, because if you look at my profile in the members section it tells you hope this answers the question and does'nt upset anybody.
As for Haywood and Scott it would appear they do not have an active website at the moment (a chance for you I.T boys i think), so sorry all i can find is their phone number and tell you I think they are based in Essex I believe they are at Basildon???
Apoligies for any spelling mistooks but i'm not feeling 100%

I have been running various Hayward and Scott systems on my boinger for years.

They have been proven on various rolling roads to give good power increases over other makes.

I am speaking to them at the moment about making a nice track friendly version for my FD.
