You've probably just missed out on a fine concours condition Cosmo from Japan. 4000 miles since new!
There are not many nice 20B's left in Japan now.

Freddy - thanks for making me feel better!
Only kidding! Always the way it goes....4000 miles since new sounds incredible, and I guess you're right about nice ones being scarce...
Will keep eyes peeled and if its meant to be, it will happen. I've also asked Nikkyo to look out for one ; sure there are better contacts to use, but they've been straight up in dealings previously...

Cant help you on where to look, other than yahoo auction sites to give you an idea of local prices and general condition of the cars on the dom market;
http://list1.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/2084049156-category-leaf.html
and
http://autos.yahoo.co.jp/ucar/search/search.html?type=maker&car_cd=MAS056&category=2084049156
As for changing over, I used to drive a single FD which was fun when you were in the mood but for me it was tiring 70% of the time as a daily drive (e.g. noise, clutch, aftermarket suspension etc). I must be old before my time, but the cosmo is much more relaxing, great as an auto for a daily drive with the hold and power functions (it ain't no sports car!), and plenty of tuning potential just ask Kevin-yorks.
Best of luck

cheers for the advice. That's my problem..I want a beastie with some manners...my rex is fun and beautiful, but it is first and foremost a sports car...

It does sound like a Cosmo might fit the bill go for a type s or sx though unless you can track one down like Jons thats fully sorted. Less toys the the suspension is set up a lot firmer than the type e and eccs.

been offered a full service history ECCS with full engine rebuild for 1100k Y via Japan?
Dont know how that stacks up?
Cheeper for S or SX models (as low as 300K Y)
Anyone know how this pricing sounds?

The one I mentioned above did not go for as much as that and that was creme de la creme. Then again, that was in auction for exporters etc did not put their margin on - which is often near double!

Hey people sorry i haven't been checking posts too much.
The car is a 20B triple as you'd expect
We have just tidied up the interior (it had been sitting for a while)
There are a few dinks in the body, nothing major, but i want them sorted before sale so i'll be doing that when it brightens up.
Its a good solid motor. Good compression. NOt sure of History,re-build etc as its came from Japan with no details!
She rides on stock rims, two tone paint, dark gray at the bottom, champaginy goldy colour for the rest.
I will post some pics a little later.
