Hi Guys,
Basically what it says on the title really. I did a quote today for an FD and i put on that i had 3points for not obeying a traffic signal, i.e running a red light :reallymad anyway it increased the old quote by 27% :(
I had 3point 5 years ago for an sp30 and it didnt change the insurance. So i tried that instead and it still increased the quote by the same amount
So your opinions please, cheers, Wav:)
P.S. this quote was with tesco and is fully comp, third party cover only seems to be affected by about 10%.

About 4 years ago an SP30 cost me 25% additional on my premium. :censored::censored::censored::censored::censored::censored:s.
The more and more I read about insurance companies the more convinced I am that they really DO make it up as they go along...

I managed to get a nice little CU30 (bald tires... actually a bit unfair to give me the points, under the circumstances, but that's a rant for another day :) ). Insurance costs actually didn't seem to go up too much. Maybe 10% or so as an average over the various quotes I got. (mostly done online though, so not a very good representation of the quote I ended up accepting)
It depends a lot on the insurer. Some seem to see the most minor offences as crimes against humanity, others don't really give a damn unless you've actually been banned.

Does seem that way, doesn't it? I've been doing the occasional days driving in my dad's car recently, since the rex hasn't arrived yet, and the pug seems to frighten passengers :) Each time he's rung his insurers to get me on his policy for a weekend, they've charged him a different amount. Anywhere between no charge, and about £6.50. Seems to depend entirely on who's on the other end of the phone...
