Just taxed my RX today it is now officially a 1306cc all you have to do is take your documents to the local DVLA a with a copy of the official MAZDA RX7 brochure for the year of the car (downloadable off the net ) the spec sheet says the RX7 turbo ll is only 1306cc there will tack a photocopy of it and change the log book accordingly result cheep road tax!. And with classic insurance all I need now is the sun to get the top down roll on the summer.

i thought they were clamping down on this , and if they ever caught up with you then they would charge you all the back tax payments

how do you go on about a V5 saying 1308cc , but your insurance saying 2.6 ( or summat like that )

Well I got my insurance company to write 1.3 on the insurance document too :p

As for them clamping down I also heard this, but I dont see what they can do short of removing my engine and testing its capacity. Besides, Id still argue that its a 1.3. If for taxation puposes they mean swept volume or something, then they need to change all their forms to state this instead of CC. Its not going to happen.

aslong as the insurance reg matches the MOT and DVLA road tax - then does the engine size matter ?????

its the car thats insured not the engine size ???

and do you have to take it to the DVLA or a post office ?

when i spoke with motormall about the likelyhood of getting my FD registered as 1.3 they reckoned they get about an 80% as 2.6 since they tightened up on it http://smilies.crowd9.com/contrib/edoom/puppy_dog_eyes.gif

What is the website address to download the brochure ? Which insurance company are you with ? After I got the brochure, what else do I need in order to get the DVLA to change the Taxation class to 1.3 ?? Thanx a lot for that
