this is a question for you computer bods. i have recently tried to put a web address into my threads and it doesn't work. they are in my favourites and i can get them but when i put them on the thread they dont work. i have checked them for spelling. any ideas?
also i just got a digicam to put things on the forum and i save them to my documents. when i try to show them it seems they are too big and cannot be sent. how do i make them small enough to send? all help apresiated.

You must have "Automatically parse URLs checked on at the bottom of this typing window. Or just add ADDRESS
Then you can do the following:
For URLs (website addresses) you can just put www.mymazdarotary.com (literally type it as that).
Another way is to copy and paste the URL into here, like this:
http://www.mymazdarotary.com/mazda_rotary_events/sevenstock_4/sevenstock_4_videos/sevenstock_4_videos.htm
Most of the time when I post links I will "Right click" on the original source of the link then select "Copy Shortcut" - then paste whereever.
You will need a picture editing program to reduce the size of your photo files. You can do this with "Windows Paint" (under Start --> Programs --> Accessories --> Paint). But the software you got with your camera should have this, there should be an option under "Save As" then select the amount of compression for the image 80%.
I use a program called Presto amoung others - check out attached screen dump here (for an example).
Also - reducing the size of the image by 50% (actual display size) will reduce the size of the file somewhat.

thanks glen. you have given me an idea what to do. i have been trying to post a picture for well over an hour with no luck but i will keep trying, maybe tomorrow. i get the idea now , you have to move the info around change it call it something else then get it back. thanks, jay
