View Full Version : Whats a reasonable price for an RX2
RX-2 only

I am looking for an RX2 again after many years away from rotaries. I have found a couple for sale in the $450 to $600 American range but ones to far away and the other is a bit rusty. The rusty car does have a full autocross cage as well as a spare engine and other spare parts so I am thinking about that one. At present it does not run.
Any thoughts?
Anyone seen any good deals in the USA? I think it would be kinda hard to import one.

Speak to spacejunky on this site, send him a private message, he has a RX8 and is in New Mexico, you never know.

Hi There
Bought a rusty one that has a ford engine in it, for £175. It does run, and is on the road (Licenced/Taxed).

One of our members, anthony Cunningham bought a pristine one, I forget if the price was £800 or £1800 now.
Hope this helps

Hope this helps Any idea how that converts to US dollars? Sounds like you got a good deal though. How long before you get a rotary back in it?

Yep, I think it was a bargain.
I bought it in partnershaip with another Rotorhead, Henning. We were given a badly rusted 1st Gen RX-7. We are going to swap over the Engine , Gearbox, and PRopshaft, hopefully within a few months.
Then its time to sand, fill, and spray her. We dont like the colour, but to change it is a monumental amount of work, so it'll probably stay orange. Mind you, that is an authentic 70's colour, eh?
£1 is about $1.50.
Plse keep us updated!

Yes that is an original color. I have seen several here in the states including one I had for a parts car. Hopefully they did not tear it up too bad puting the Ford engine in there.
We have had one running around here for awhile that had a Ford V8 in it. This guy had this car for years and Had built it up ALOT. It had become a full tube framed car. About the only original Mazda parts was the RX2 shell. I remember he was killed in a street race with the car over a year ago. Where he was racing there was a known pot hole in the road and during this race he hit that hole and it caused him to lose control of the car and rolled it. Made all the local papers because he was CEO of a local computer company. He held several King of the Street titles with the car as well.
