insurance for a 20.

hi all

im a 19 years old well twenty by the time i get my rx-7,
im also looking for a decent insurance.
Would the FD insurance would be similar to FC?
Any one got their insurance when they were 20 and what
sort of price would i be looking for?

totally depends on model, mods, year, NCB, postcode alarm etc

probably a few grand for age 20

Shouldn't think you'll manage that. At 21, and living in a low risk area, I'll still be lucky to get change from 3k.

Your only realistic chances of getting insured for under 2 thou are:

1. Know someone who works in insurance
2. Get an older relative to insure it with you as a named driver
3. Get a UK model, the oldest one you can find, go with a limited miles classic policy, keep the car garaged, go ultra heavy on security devices, no mods, declare the value to be under £4,000 etc. etc.
4. TPFT (seriously not reccomended!)

Fd insurance will be much, much higher than an FC, I'm afraid.
