I believe everyone in this forum is rotary, sorry as nice as the v8 sounds, the rotary can sound as sweet and go even better than the v8. But the car drive it a while and youll never go down the v8 road to damnation, promise its a sweet car.

Is it the black coupe? Big wing on the back?
If not I wonder what became of it?
Bet you'll have some fun with your project,

You gotta go twin '40' s get on the rollers and let us know
what you can get,
It would be more than Intersting,
As for springs give tim a call down at RX motors or go the
import route but it'll cost cos the wait.

twin 40's on a V8? Not really a performance set up. quad IDAs is more the thing.
The venerable rover V8, whilst light, is actually very expensive to get serious HP from. The last of the 4.6's were being sold off recently for about 1500 a pop.
The torque is luvverly, but over 300HP gets difficult. Get a low compression block and bung hairdriers on and it gets a lot more interesting mind.
The LS1 on the other hand has a lot more potential and is not that expensive.
I will build a piston RX7 one day, but then again I am also planning a rotary lotus excel. I get annoyed with the anti engine swap brigade on RX7club, but given that some of the posters there are barely out of puberty I guess they can be forgiven.

the black one that was for sale 2 years ago was running a quad set up on a 3.9 rover motor...i know what you mean about getting horses from the old buick/rover its expensive, but on the flip side you get bags of torque a heavenly sound and a lot cheaper to run than a rotary,imo....a freind has a porsche 924 with a rover 4.8 real steel stroker motor, holley projection and nitrous..without gas made 311 bhp...and 342lbs torque and ran a 12.9 at the pod on its maden voyage...not bad eh...email me for a better chat...do you live oin england or usa...??
