i've been wondering about the prices of the rx-7, i have been watching the prices for a while now but they seem pretty static and not dropping as far as i can see, however do you think with the release of the rx-8 the prices could come down??

I don't think they will that much, but don't forget they are two different animals. The RX-7 is pure sports, the RX-8 is virtually but not quite.

You will find the RX-7 has much more power than an RX-8, but if you are after perfect reliability then go for the RX-8, if you want to modify your car the RX-7 would be better to go for but will still cost you a bit to do properly.

no you didnt confuse me, i am 110% going for and rx-7, and i have read page after page on how to modify them so that i am fully prepaired. Now just for the small matter of £££:D

How about this angle, the RX-8 could actualy raise the prices of all the the older models due to the fact that Mazda are about to explain all the wonderfull qualities of the Rotary and this should have a knock on effect through the older models and bring prices up .

i've had an idea about getting a 2nd gen n/a rx-7 at the start of summer to get used to maintaining a rotary and driving a rear wheeled monster:cool:

i have ran some insurance quotes and so far there coming out about £400 higher than my current cars renewal was.

my questions are

1. how much should i spend on one with a good engine, the bodywork can be average as i will only own it for a short time.
i was thinking around £1000

2. will i be-able to simply swap the 2 cars on the policy, my current cars an insurance group 11/12 and i think the rx is a 16, i am only 20 just now but can get insured.

3. what is the rx-7's econemy like? i would expect 25-30mpg for the n/a or am i living in hope.:confused:

4. is anyone selling a n/a with a good engine? i might be interested.

*** i paid 900 for mine on an F reg - it seems ok !

*** try a company call sure term direct - i got mine with 3K milage , fully comp , no noclaims as a second car for 350

*** I WISH - i reckon anything between 9 - 18 depends on driving style !
