I`m thinking of lowering my RX7, but i`m not sure what to go for, i`d like to lower the car about 40mm, but I dont want to ruin the handling as I find it handles very well as it is.

I`m not going to be doing trackdays or anything like that, so the suspension doesnt NEED to be top of the line stuff, basically whats the best bang for your buck way of lowering the car?

Cheers.

If you lower the car you are going to have to get the geometry reset to compensate or you will go through tyres like they are going out of fassion!!!
If you just want a quick fix just get a set of lowering springs, but obviously coilovers would be the chosen rought!!!

I think springs would be sufficient for my needs, are any particular brands a better choice?

lowering springs are all good...just dont go for anything with a silly spring rate otherwise youll find your dampers wont last five minutes!! Idealy, you want a setup like the rz bilsteins and RSR lowering springs. THe shorter stroke of the RZ damper will allow you to fit a lowering spring without exerting any extra wear on the damper.

cool, thanks for the advice, I was thinking of going for TEIN springs? are they a good choice?

They make excellent coilover/etc kits so I reckon their springs will be good. I'm sure there was some for sale in the for sale bit a while ago....maybe search and see if they're still there?

Just my cents worth, I've got Tein coilovers on mine, and it is significantly harder than standard, even on the softest setting; as one2watch says, make sure you don't get high spring rates or you'll lose grip on bumpy roads as it'll be skipping everywhere. Make sure you budget £50 - £100 to get the suspension set up again as lowering it will upset the camber :(

are the tein sprins a high spring rate?...What do you mean by getting the suspension set up again? laser alignment & camber adjusting?

tein springs tend to be a very similar rate...if eibach do springs, id recommend them as they were superb for integra type r stock dampers.

You should get laser alignment after doing suspension alterations....i do mine myself using a string method....accurate as most garages are gonna do it

The tein's feel pretty stiff to me anyway! Yes, I mean alignment and camber; mine was about 1 degree too much camber everywhere; feels much more stable with it dialled back out :)
